Melee weapons icon

Melee Weapons are weapons used in close-range combat. They include several types of bladed weapons and blunt weapons. While they do not require ammunition to be used, their Heavy Attacks consume Energy. The Ninja class is specialized in using Melee Weapons, with various passive abilities boosting damage done by these weapon types, and mobility to allow them to go in and out of melee range with ease. Melee Weapons are categorized into 6 subclasses: Swords, Axes, Spears, Scythes, Clubs, and Hardware.

Swords[]

Swords are edged weapons which are built for speed rather than impact. They have a short attack range, with moderate damage and faster attack speed, as well as heavy attacks which allows for a higher damage potential

Axes[]

Axes are edged weapons with less speed but higher impact. They have a short attack range, with good damage and knockback, and heavy attacks that deal a wide knockback effect, making them a suitable weapon for crowd control.

Spears[]

Spears are piercing weapons with a longer range and medium speed and impact. Similar to swords, they have a decent attack speed as well as heavy attacks which allow more damage in a larger AoE.

Scythes[]

Scythes are edged weapons with a longer range, lower speed, and higher impact. Similar to axes, their slower attack speed is complemented with ability to knockback and heavy attacks with a wide knockback effect.

Clubs[]

Clubs are blunt weapons with decent attack speed and impact. Their heavy attacks deals increased damage to enemies and gives extra knockback.

Hardware[]

Hardware weapons are blunt weapons with higher impact but slower speed. Their heavy attacks deal knockback in an AoE.

Changes[]

Patch 3.5 (April 11, 2018)
  • Rework: Melee Weapons + Environment
    • Melee weapons (aside from Pickaxes) can no longer damage structures that you or your team have built, and have had their environmental damage increased.
    • Environmental damage scaling for on-level melee weapons should now feel more consistent, relative to the health of the environment
      • NOTE: Environmental damage increases with tier and rarity only, and is not multiplied through Offense.
    • Axes do increased damage against wood. Hardware does increased damage against stone.Swords, Clubs, Scythes, and Spears do not favor any material type.

Patch 2.3.0 (January 24, 2018)

  • Standardized the damage melee weapons do to the environment.
    • Melee weapons previously varied from 20%-70% of weapon damage depending upon the weapon type and the target material.
    • All weapons are now set to a flat 50% of weapon damage against wood and stone, and 20% versus metal.
    • Pickaxes remain unaffected.
